Woodmont Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn. is seeking a Minister of Youth and College who has a heart for discipling teens and young adults. Often referred to as “a family of faith,” Woodmont Baptist Church was established in 1941 in the Green Hills area of Nashville and averages a weekly attendance of 300 members. At Woodmont, we believe God calls us to bring hope and healing to our neighbors and to the world. Our five core values are Worship, Prayer, Truth, Family and Mission.

The Minister of Youth and College will serve as the primary leadership to all areas of ministry activities and programs for Middle School, High School and Young Adults (ages 18-22) including, but not limited to, university students. The ideal candidate will build relationships with students, young adults, parents, volunteers and church leaders, and will help them grow their faith in Jesus Christ.

Primary Duties Include

The major responsibilities, as identified by our congregation are as follows:


  • Developing Youth and College Ministries with the goal of leading individuals to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 

  • Planning programs and small group Bible studies to lead students on a path of ongoing, faithful discipleship.

  • Coordinating and leading Youth and College Ministry activities on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and during off-campus activities and fellowships. 

  • Organizing and leading Youth on a week-long summer camp experience.

  • Maintaining open and transparent communication with students and their families.

  • Sending monthly informational e-mail newsletters informing parents and students of upcoming events. 

  • Managing online registration for events, retreats and camps.

  • Recruiting parents and other adult volunteers to serve as chaperones or bus drivers for events as needed.

  • Helping create a positive, safe atmosphere for the Woodmont Youth Group and fostering a sense of belonging and authenticity among its members.

  • Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned by the Senior Pastor. 


Desired Qualities

  • Strong Christian commitment, depth of Biblical knowledge and a calling to love and disciple students.

  • Must be upper level college student or college graduate.

  • Seminary experience is preferred.

  • Experience working with students (ages 12-18) and young adults ages (18-22) is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills.


Terms of Employment

  • Position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Sundays and Wednesdays are required. 

  • Salary will be based on education and experience.

  • Applicant must participate in a criminal background check, drug test, and completion of Safe Sanctuary Training.

  • Applicant must provide professional and personal references.

  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license.
