What is News Channel 5+ and how can I find it? New Channel 5+ is a cable affiliate of News Channel 5 (CBS) here in Nashville. (Cable affiliate means that is not a broadcast station. It is viewable only through cable systems.) It is shown on cable channel 50 on both Comcast and Charter cable systems throughout central Tennessee.
When are the services broadcast? Woodmont will continue to broadcast its “live” service every Sunday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
What about viewers who are not on cable? Viewers who currently watch our broadcast either by Direct Satellite TV or through regular broadcast antennas will no longer be able to view the program. When the digital transition occurs later in the summer, a number of changes will occur throughout the television industry. Those who are currently unable to view the program may have opportunities to watch once those changes are in place.
How can non-cable viewers watch our program? Two ways. First, as a part of our new church website, all of our services can be viewed “on-line.” Services are not carried “live” but are available for viewing within 24 hours of the broadcast. Second, Woodmont will continue to produce DVD’s of all services. They are available through the church office.
How will people know that Woodmont’s service is on the new station? Announcements will be prominently displayed on the church’s website, emailed to all members, and posted on Facebook. Additionally, the change will be highlighted on the church sign. Because of the affiliation with Channel 5, Channel 5 will “cross-promote” during various time slots to share the news with their audience.
