I grew up in Rome, GA as the son of a Baptist preacher who pastored the First Baptist Church of Rome for 35 years. He and my mother still live there. I attended Darlington High School in Rome where I enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. For college, I attended Samford University in Birmingham where I completed a double major in Religion and Church Recreation. My seminary degrees are from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where I earned both a Masters and Doctoral Degree. I've been at Woodmont for a decade. It's been a great experience for me and my family. It's a great church that truly represents the spirit of family. What I really enjoy here are the people. The diversity of ages, the depth of faith, and the sense of serving the Kingdom have made Woodmont a wonderful place in which to minister. Woodmont has a great missions heritage. It's been great to plug into that heritage and have the opportunity to minister to folks in places like Brazil, Greece, Croatia, and New Orleans. It's an active church... somedays too busy! But what a great place to feed your soul and plug in to God's greater work.

Wife – Carol Children – Russell and Claire Our Dog – Keegan
I grew up in Bolivar, TN in the western part of the state. I have lived in TN all my life, except for seminary days in TX. I graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX with degrees in Music. The great joy of service at Woodmont is the opportunity to be around all ages of people in the church. Singing to God is a great joy, plus it always helps us to keep our eyes focused on what really matters in life. I knew God was calling me to work in the church at an early age. I have grown up in the church and as a teenager was always involved in the life of the church. Needless to say, it is no surprise that here I am 35 years later, still hanging around the church, loving God, loving people, and making a difference in the world. God has blessed me richly with a wonderful family for whom I am most grateful.

I grew up in Athens, Tennessee, and enjoyed the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and rafting down the Ocoee River each summer. I graduated in 1993 from Tennessee Tech University with a major in Business Management and Marketing. It was during college and my involvement in Baptist Collegiate Ministries, that I felt God calling me into full time Christian Ministry. I attended Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where I met my wife ,Dawn. After a few years serving as a youth minister in Kentucky, we moved to the Nashville area in 2001. We love living in Middle Tennessee, being closer to family and love all the Nashville area has to offer families. God has blessed me and my family in so many ways since being at Woodmont. I love working with teenagers and families; it keeps me young! One of my favorite things about Woodmont Baptist is the sense of family. Woodmont is my church family. Life is better knowing you have a family to live it with.

I was born in Corpus Christi, TX, and before the age of 6 I had lived in Texas, Florida, Japan, California and the Philippines, before settling down to begin 1st grade in Hanford, California (my father was in the Navy). I grew up in Hanford (central California) until moving to Franklin, TN at the age of 16 where I completed my last 2 years of high school. I gave my life to the Lord during that time, and began attending church regularly for the first time in my life. I was hungry for God's Word and His direction during those 2 years, so upon graduating high school in 1986, I decided to attend Bible School to continue establishing a spiritual foundation for my life. I chose Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, TX and completed it's 2 year program earning a certificate of Practical Theology in Biblical Studies. Upon returning to Nashville I continued my education in Video Production and Art at several area colleges and universities, eventually starting my own video production and photography company that I still operate today. During that time I was also heavily involved in Children's Ministry on both a volunteer and a paid basis at Bethel World Outreach Center for almost 20 years. Bethel is also where I met my wife, Marie, and we were married there in July of 1997. Marie and I both feel called to Children's Ministry, and that is fairly apparent considering the fact that we have 4 children! Our move to Woodmont in March of 2010 has been a very positive experience, both for Marie and I, as well as our children. We have felt warmly welcomed by the Woodmont staff and family and we look forward to many days ahead as we strive to reach children and families with the love of Christ!

Laura Edgar Summer Minister of Youth
I am from greater metropolitan Deatsville, Alabama where I was blessed to grow up with wonderful Christian parents. Every day I become more and more thankful for them and their constant support and encouragement. I’m also thankful for the experiences God has given me throughout my life and the things He’s taught me through them. One summer of high school and every summer during college God gave me the opportunity to serve at WorldSong Camp. God used those summers and the people He brought into my life through camp to forever change my life. I attended Auburn University where I was a member of the marching band during all four years of college. Being part of the game day atmosphere on campus and traveling to new places to perform were incredible experiences that I will never forget. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Communication and looked for God’s guidance on what to do next. Though I felt God calling me into fulltime ministry when I was a teenager, I wasn’t sure what type of ministry or what direction He was leading. He eventually opened the doors for me to serve at Woodmont so I moved to Nashville and became a part of this family of faith. What started as a summer job turned into over a year of serving with the staff of Woodmont, and I couldn’t have been more thankful for the time God gave me here. Now He’s brought me back this summer to serve the youth and their parents, and I’m excited to see how He works in all of our lives.

Windy Robbins Weekday Preschool Director
Married to Dennis Robbins 1 child : Ashlinn Grace Robbins
I grew up in LaFollette, TN and attended college at Tennessee Technological University where I majored in Elementary Education. While attending college I met my wonderful spouse, Dennis, and job opportunities had us relocate to Nashville. I thought I always wanted to teach in an elementary school, but God had different plans for me. Dennis and I began attending church at Woodmont, and within a few months, I received a call from the weekday preschool wanting to know if I was interested in a part-time teaching job. I began working here 3 days a week and realized God had something else in store for my teaching career. The next fall, a full-time position opened up in the preschool three-year-old classroom, and I accepted the job and taught in the preschool for nine years. Six years ago, I accepted the position as the Director of the program. I have the opportunity to see 75 smiling children daily and know that they are precious gifts from God.
